My personal style of drawing records itself somewhere in between the black and white photographers photograph and the artist’s pencil interpretation; thus providing the client with an experience when viewing my work which enables the appreciation of both media. I call it “photographite”.

Generally speaking, color photography is an artistic vehicle for direct documentation of the subject as registered by the human eye, while black and white photography, (where color is intentionally removed) evokes more emotion and mystery.

Older drawings of mine will show compositions fading to white space as the viewers eye moves further from the point of emphasis.  Recently however I have been exploring a more comprehensive approach toward the drawings I complete where the same level of detail and attention is used from border to border within the framed composition.

In order to provide completed artwork with such an extreme level of accuracy and detailed information, quality photographs are required as a visual reference. I can work from digital images (jpegs are preferred) or actual photographs.
